We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Milton Keynes. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to special educational needs or disabilities. You will play a vital role in helping these students access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and achieve their full potential in an educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet individual student needs.
- Support students with social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Promote independence and self-confidence among students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt support strategies accordingly.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, special educational needs, or a related field (desired but not essential).
