We are currently seeking a dedicated 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a young boy with limited communication skills in a Year 1 class in Hemel Hempstead. This unique role is exclusively available through Dunbar Education.
Position Overview: As a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to a young boy with limited communication skills. Your dedication and expertise will make a meaningful impact on his educational and personal development. This position is full-time, starting immediately and running until October half-term, with strong potential for an extension for the full academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the young boy, providing 1-1 support in the classroom.
- Adapt and implement strategies to facilitate communication and engagement.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop individualized plans.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the school and parents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly in 1-1 support roles.
- Understanding of communication and behaviour strategies for children with SEN.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
