Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Northamptonshire, offering immediate or September start dates.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support and assistance to students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis.
- Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure the provision of appropriate support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the overall development and well-being of students.
- Assist with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- Support students' social and emotional development, promoting independence and self-confidence.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a special educational needs setting would be highly beneficial.
- A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a commitment to their educational and personal development.
- A valid DBS certificate is required, or the willingness to obtain one prior to starting the position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents/guardians, and other professionals.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and supporting students' diverse needs.
