Are you a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to provide individualised support to students in their educational journey? Dunbar Education is currently recruiting for both part-time and full-time positions to work on a long-term supply basis at a local primary school in Harpenden.

Position Overview: We are in search of compassionate and skilled 1:1 Teaching Assistants who can offer dedicated support to students with diverse needs on a long-term supply basis. This represents a unique chance to make a significant impact on the academic and personal growth of these students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tailored Support: Work closely with students who require one-to-one assistance, adjusting teaching materials and strategies to cater to their specific requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking and reporting student progress to classroom teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs).
  • Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Curriculum Customisation: Modify and adapt lessons to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with classroom teachers, school staff, and parents/guardians concerning student development.
  • Inclusive Environment: Foster a secure and inclusive learning atmosphere that promotes student confidence and independence.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in an educational environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Strong knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students.
