Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Support: Offer personalized assistance to students with ASD, addressing their unique learning needs and challenges.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD.
Classroom Assistance: Provide in-class support to students, ensuring they can actively engage in lessons and activities.
Emotional Support: Help students develop essential social and emotional skills, promoting their well-being and self-confidence.
Crisis Management: Be prepared to handle potential crisis situations that may arise, following established school protocols.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress and maintain accurate records to track their development.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and proactive communication with parents or guardians, updating them on their child's progress and areas of improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder is highly desirable.
- A background in education, psychology, or a related field would be advantageous.
- Understanding of different communication techniques and behavioral management strategies for students with ASD.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patient, compassionate, and empathetic attitude towards students with additional needs.
- Ability to adapt to various educational settings and demonstrate flexibility in supporting different students.
