We are seeking an Attendance Officer and Pastoral Administration Assistant for an inspiring school in Baldock. The provision boasts an alternative curriculum, including subjects such as martial arts, skiing and culinary arts.
This is a Grade H4 role, pro rata, based on 37 hours per week. Term time only + 5 inset days.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attendance Monitoring and Reporting
- Utilise attendance data to monitor and report on school-wide attendance trends
- Analyse data to identify critical areas of concern related to attendance
- Collaborate with students, staff, parents, and caregivers to address and reduce absenteeism
- Take appropriate actions when persistent absenteeism raises safeguarding concerns
- Work closely with the pastoral team to update EHCPs
- Manage transportation arrangements for students as needed
- Maintain an organised diary to ensure efficient coordination of activities
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of the school census, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations
- Regularly engage with families to foster a supportive environment for students
- Prioritise the well-being of students and their families through effective communication
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO to address individual student needs
Qualifications and Skills:
- A strong commitment to promoting student attendance and well-being
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret attendance data effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with EHCP plans and related processes is advantageous
- Organisational skills to manage transportation arrangements and maintain an efficient diary
- Knowledge of school census procedures is a plus
