Behaviour Inclusion Teaching Assistant

Dunbar Education is partnering with a reputable local primary school in Northampton to find a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Inclusion Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students who require additional support in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Implement individualised behaviour support plans and interventions to promote positive outcomes.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create personalised learning strategies.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to enable students to access the curriculum effectively.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and behaviour, communicating effectively with parents and staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with behavioural challenges in an educational setting is advantageous.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the school community.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting behaviour management.
  • Knowledge of behaviour intervention techniques and strategies.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.
