Behaviour Specialist Teacher with SEMH and SLCN experience

Monday - Friday

Pay starts from £160 per day, depending on experience

We are seeking energetic SEMH teachers to join our schools in Hertfordshire. You must be an expert in supporting students with challenging behaviour and SLCN. The ideal candidates should be able to provide the best support to ensure the mental health needs of the students are met, whilst guaranteeing they have a safe learning environment.

The ideal candidates will have trauma-informed practices that focus on young people's health and well-being and their social and emotional development. You should be able to consider the reasons behind a child's behaviour and establish support plans for the individual.

We require candidates who have excellent communication and organisational skills and are able to handle stressful situations whilst keeping a positive and nurturing attitude.

Main Responsbilities:

  • Develop EHCPs and Behaviour Support Plans
  • Plan and deliver dynamic and inspiring lessons and activities centred around the curriculum and the interests of the young people
  • Access children and young people who have SLCN and SEMH and work with colleagues to identify individual students' needs
  • Liaise with internal and external professionals to ensure students receive the very best care and support
  • Attend annual reviews and other regulated meetings such as LAC reviews and TAC meetings

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS
  • Proven track record of teaching and motivating young people with challenging behaviours and SLCN
  • Excellent knowledge of the SEN code of practice
  • Knowledge of communication methods to aid SLCN within children and young people
  • A strong desire to improve the lives of young people, regardless of their background and experience.
