Behaviour Specialist Teacher

Join an inspiring, dynamic team in Hatfield as an experienced and highly motivated SEMH teacher. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs. In this role, you will design and deliver engaging lessons, placing emphasis on a holistic and student-centred approach to learning.

As a dedicated SEMH teacher, you will provide essential support, structure, and motivation to help students develop and achieve their goals. Building positive relationships with students and staff will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

Working within a challenging behaviour provision, you will be confident in consistently providing feedback and support to aid students with SEMH needs.

Your role will involve the following:

  • Developing EHCPs and Behavior Support Plans to cater to individual student needs.
  • Planning and preparing lessons that accommodate the diverse abilities within the class.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students by following child protection and safeguarding measures in accordance with school and national policies.
  • Preparing and assessing student work to foster positive development.
  • Collaborating with professionals such as education welfare officers and educational psychologists.
  • Creating and applying evaluation criteria to gauge success in addressing academic and emotional challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
  • Actively motivating students to engage with the curriculum and thrive in the school environment.

Requirements:

  • Possess a degree in Education, Psychology or a related field
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to meeting the needs of students with special educational requirements
  • Prior experience teaching in a UK educational establishment
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Passion for Education
