Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Biology Teacher to join a secondary school starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Biology lessons to secondary level students. They will inspire curiosity and critical thinking, cultivating a deep understanding and appreciation for the biological sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons in line with the school's curriculum and educational objectives
  • Create stimulating learning experiences tailored to the diverse needs and abilities of students
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to facilitate active learning and student participation
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and enrichment activities
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialisation in Biology or a related field, with a robust academic background in the biological sciences
  • Experience teaching Biology at the secondary level, preferably within an independent school setting
  • Passion for igniting curiosity and promoting scientific inquiry among students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
  • Alignment with the school's ethos and values
