Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our team at a prestigious Secondary School in Bedford. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of education by overseeing classes in the absence of regular teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a minimum of 6 months of UK education experience who are passionate about supporting the learning and development of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task and engaged in learning.
- Manage student behavior effectively, maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Provide support to students in their learning, offering assistance with tasks and answering questions where possible.
- Follow school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and health and safety.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff, providing feedback on student progress and any issues that arise during lessons.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, such as taking registers and reporting on student attendance.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of education experience in a UK setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subject areas and year groups.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting the learning and development of young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the wider school community.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) and other relevant safeguarding checks.
