Position: DT ECT Teacher (Design and Technology Early Career Teacher)

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate DT ECT Teacher to join a dynamic team, they are an Ofsted rated Good secondary school located in Romford, Havering. This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Teacher to embark on a fulfilling career in education, making a significant impact on the lives of young learners.

As a DT ECT Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in Design and Technology to secondary school students. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the DT curriculum and possess the skills necessary to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology, catering to the needs of students at various skill levels.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement schemes of work, ensuring curriculum coherence and progression.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in DT education, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies into lessons.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology, with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Enthusiasm for inspiring students and fostering a love for Design and Technology.
  • Dedication to providing high-quality education and achieving positive outcomes for students.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
