As an Education & Behaviour Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in managing their behavior, overcoming barriers to learning, and reaching their full potential. Your expertise and dedication will make a significant impact on the students' personal and educational development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain effective behavior management strategies, tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide support and guidance to classroom teachers and support staff in managing challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Deliver targeted interventions to support students with specific behavioral needs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment through the use of appropriate strategies and techniques.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and adapting strategies as necessary.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly in behavior management.
- Sound knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Understanding of a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
