We are seeking an Experienced Science Teacher with SEMH experience for maternity cover at a fantastic challenging behaviour provision in Baldock. This role will commence in September 2023.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering lessons for students with SEMH needs, ensuring a holistic and student-centred approach to learning. You will provide support, structure and motivation to enable students to develop and reach their goals and foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
- Ensure all pupils are safe and that all child protection and safeguarding measures are followed in accordance with school and national policies
- Prepare and mark work to facilitate positive pupil development
- Meet with other professionals such as education welfare officers and educational psychologists
- Devise and apply criteria for evaluating success with pupils who experience SEMH needs that impact their academic and emotional development
- Motivate students to engage with the curriculum and the school environment actively
- Teaching lessons at an appropriate level to include all pupils, aiding their understanding of the three major sciences: physics, chemistry and biology
- Demonstrating experiments and assisting pupils to safely carry out practical experiments to enhance their comprehension of the topic.
