Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Dunbar Education is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Full-Time SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs in a classroom setting.
  • Assist in the implementation of strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and social development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a behavior role or as a youth worker is essential.
  • Solid understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to apply effective strategies.
  • UK-based experience working in an educational or similar setting.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance on the update service is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.

Term Time Position:

This is a term-time position, allowing for a work schedule aligned with the school calendar.
