Fully Qualified SENCO role

Job Description

Our client, an Independent School in Northampton, is dedicated to providing high-quality education and support to its students. They are currently seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to join their team and play a key role in ensuring that every student's educational needs are met.

Position Overview: As a SENCO, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the special educational needs provision within the school. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that every child receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the school's SEN policy and provision
  • Identify, assess, and support students with special educational needs
  • Collaborate with teachers to create individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies, and professionals as needed
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEN matters
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team
  • A passion for supporting students with special educational needs
