About the role:
We are looking to recruit a Head of Music who is committed to comprehensive education, someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in students' futures, and committed to, and understanding how outstanding teaching and learning can transform lives. The main responsibility will be for delivering high quality Music education by modelling good practice. Additionally, you will be required to contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the Academy.

This is an ofsted good, 11 - 18 years school based in Watford that is currently expanding. They are an over-subscribed, high-performing, non-selective Academy. The students have consistently achieved some of the best exam results in Southwest Hertfordshire

Key responsibilities
● Develop cross-curricular links to help build connections, helping students to creatively develop exploring a range of skills.
● Give students a creative curriculum that inspires them to become confident and independent learners who can understand and use different knowledge and skills to complement them in school and the wider world.
● Engage students in real life experiences, both inside and outside of school through performances and discipline.
● Monitor standards within the department through data analysis, lesson observations, work scrutiny and learning walks.
● Be prepared to organise cover work in the event of staff absence.
● Monitor colleague's use of SOW and ensure that course coverage occurs at an appropriate rate.
