Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Head of Music to join a thriving school in Hertfordshire. As the Head of Music, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Music department, fostering creativity, and nurturing a love for music among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Music department, providing clear direction and support to music teachers and support staff.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and enriching music curriculum that caters to the diverse needs of students.
  • Inspire students to achieve their full potential in music and encourage participation in musical activities and performances.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, ensuring that they receive the highest quality music education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular learning and extracurricular music programs.
  • Organize and oversee music events, concerts, and performances, showcasing the talents of students.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in music education and implement best practices in the department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a music teacher with a track record of successful leadership.
  • Strong passion for music and the ability to inspire students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
