Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Head of Music to join a thriving school in Hertfordshire. As the Head of Music, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Music department, fostering creativity, and nurturing a love for music among students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Music department, providing clear direction and support to music teachers and support staff.
- Develop and implement an engaging and enriching music curriculum that caters to the diverse needs of students.
- Inspire students to achieve their full potential in music and encourage participation in musical activities and performances.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students, ensuring that they receive the highest quality music education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular learning and extracurricular music programs.
- Organize and oversee music events, concerts, and performances, showcasing the talents of students.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in music education and implement best practices in the department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a music teacher with a track record of successful leadership.
- Strong passion for music and the ability to inspire students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and leadership abilities.
- Commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
