Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Job Description

Dunbar Education is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a complex needs setting in Bedford. As an HLTA, you will work under the guidance of the class teacher, providing support to pupils with complex needs and assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the class teacher to plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of pupils with complex needs
  • Providing 1:1 and group support to pupils, including those with challenging behaviour
  • Using your expertise and experience to provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs
  • Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils with personal care needs, as required
  • Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
  • Assisting with the organisation of trips and events

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with complex needs
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and a flexible approach to work
  • A commitment to providing high-quality education and support to pupils with complex needs
