Job Title: KS3 Family Support Worker

Location: Hoddesdon

Hours: Part Time (25 hours per week)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and fostering positive relationships between families and schools? Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is seeking a KS3 Family Support Worker to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising between families and schools to address issues affecting pupils' learning, behaviour, and well-being, particularly those with behaviour challenges.
  • Organising and leading Families First Assessment meetings and family-based meetings for schools.
  • Providing guidance and signposting support to individual families, especially those dealing with behaviour challenges.
  • Promoting and facilitating support for parents and children, including delivering bespoke parenting programmes tailored to managing behaviour challenges.
  • Maintaining accurate records of information and promoting parental engagement with school, with a focus on behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborating with professionals and agencies to ensure quality provision and care for pupils, including those with behaviour challenges.
  • Supporting pupil transition and complying with child protection and safeguarding procedures, with a specific focus on vulnerable pupils.
  • Attending meetings and conferences as required, writing reports for other agencies, and staying updated with local processes related to behaviour management.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months experience as a support worker in an SEN school.
  • DBS on the updated service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid driver's licence.
