MLD Teaching Assistant

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with a passion for education and supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an MLD Assistant in Milton Keynes.

Key Responsibilities:

As an MLD Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in a classroom setting.
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with MLD.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress and reporting to the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Collaborating with other members of the school staff to ensure the holistic development of students.
  • Offering emotional support and encouragement to students to help them overcome challenges.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Moderate Learning Difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • An understanding of SEN policies and procedures in education (desirable but not essential).
  • Previous experience working with students with MLD (desirable but not essential).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic classroom environment.
