Key Responsibilities:
As an MLD Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one support to students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in a classroom setting.
- Assisting the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with MLD.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
- Monitoring and tracking student progress and reporting to the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
- Collaborating with other members of the school staff to ensure the holistic development of students.
- Offering emotional support and encouragement to students to help them overcome challenges.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Moderate Learning Difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- An understanding of SEN policies and procedures in education (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience working with students with MLD (desirable but not essential).
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic classroom environment.
