This school is seeking an educator of Music to join a high achieving, successful and forward-looking team of staff. We wish to appoint an imaginative and enthusiastic teacher with ambition to develop further in their career.

The Teacher of Music plays a crucial role in helping students master the skills of Music. Through demonstrating excellent subject knowledge with the ability to communicate this in an enthusiastic and imaginative way to enable all students to make good or better progress.

The successful candidate will be keen to work alongside a team determined to create an excellent learning experience for all of their students As a Music teacher, you will inspire and motivate young people to understand the diverse representation of themes and writers in the literary canon, expose our students to a broad range of texts locally and from abroad, and develop skills in literary criticism and theory. The Teacher of Music position is open to both ECT and experienced candidates. The ability to support the school curriculum further within the drama department would be an additional asset.

Job Description:

  • To fulfil the Professional Standards for Teachers, in the context of being a teacher of Music as part of a subject team and potentially as a Form Tutor as part of a Year Team
  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to raising standards of student progress and attainment
  • To share and support the school to provide opportunities for all students
