Dunbar Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join a reputable Secondary School in Bedfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about music education and has a minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and dynamic music lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring the curriculum is followed and educational standards are met.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students to develop their musical skills and appreciation for music through creative teaching methods and practical activities.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess students' progress through various methods, including exams, practical performances, and coursework, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment, managing classroom behavior effectively to ensure all students can achieve their full potential.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Lead and participate in extracurricular music activities, such as school concerts, music clubs, and other performances, encouraging student participation.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in music education and participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school and Dunbar Education.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership to contribute to the overall ethos and success of the school.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in the UK education system.
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Music or Music Education, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for music and contemporary teaching methods.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for music and teaching, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Safeguarding: A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all students.
