Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assistance and support to individuals with non-verbal communication needs, including but not limited to students with speech and language impairments, autism spectrum disorders, and other related conditions.
- Collaborate with educational professionals, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions to enhance communication skills.
- Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, tools, and techniques to facilitate effective communication.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting social interaction and engagement among students.
- Monitor and track progress, document observations, and maintain accurate records of individualized communication plans.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with individuals with non-verbal communication needs, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of various disabilities impacting communication, such as autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, and speech and language impairments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with professionals, parents, and students.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to ensure the successful implementation of individualized communication plans.
