Dunbar Education, a leading recruitment agency specializing in the education sector, is seeking a dedicated and talented Non-Verbal Assistant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive assistance and support to individuals with non-verbal communication needs, including but not limited to students with speech and language impairments, autism spectrum disorders, and other related conditions.
  • Collaborate with educational professionals, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions to enhance communication skills.
  • Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, tools, and techniques to facilitate effective communication.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting social interaction and engagement among students.
  • Monitor and track progress, document observations, and maintain accurate records of individualized communication plans.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with individuals with non-verbal communication needs, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of various disabilities impacting communication, such as autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, and speech and language impairments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with professionals, parents, and students.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to ensure the successful implementation of individualized communication plans.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse communication needs.
