Job Overview: As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to students, promoting their well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. Your responsibilities will include working closely with students, parents, and school staff to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Support: Provide one-to-one and group support to students, focusing on their social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
  2. Behavior Management: Implement strategies to manage and address challenging behavior, fostering a positive and respectful school culture.
  3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement support plans for students with pastoral needs.
  4. Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crisis situations, offering appropriate support and guidance to students in need.
  5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of interventions, progress, and communications with students and other stakeholders.
  6. Safeguarding: Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures, taking appropriate action when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a pastoral or support role within the UK education system.
  • Relevant qualification in education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care and strategies for supporting students' social and emotional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
