We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Assistant to join our team in Milton Keynes. Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with PMLD in their daily activities, including personal care, feeding, and mobility.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence, learning, and social interaction.
- Follow individual care plans and support strategies, ensuring that each person's unique needs are met.
- Assist with therapy sessions, educational activities, and recreational outings.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to ensure the well-being and progress of each individual.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation regarding individuals' progress, achievements, and any concerns or incidents that arise.
- Foster positive relationships with individuals' families and provide regular updates on their loved ones' progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with PMLD or complex needs is highly desirable.
- Understanding of PMLD and familiarity with various support techniques and strategies.
- Compassionate nature and the ability to connect with individuals with learning disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of individuals and the organization.
