Job Summary:
As an English Teacher in our client school, you will inspire and motivate students in Years 7 through 11, guiding them through the complexities of the English language and literature. You will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities, ensuring that every student achieves their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with national curriculum guidelines.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
- Use relevant technology to support instruction.
- Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Provide appropriate feedback on students' work.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by school laws, district policies, and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
Essential Requirements:
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd) relevant to teaching English.
- Minimum of 6 months teaching experience within the UK education system.
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English.
- Outstanding classroom management skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching English and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with parents/guardians.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo checks.
Desirable:
- Experience in preparing students for GCSE examinations.
- Evidence of continuing professional development or additional qualifications in education.
