Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Assistant to join our team in Milton Keynes. This is a temporary to permanent position, offering a competitive daily rate of £87.50 - £92.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Students: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs. This may involve helping them with their emotional well-being, behavior management, and social development.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education professionals, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH challenges.
Monitoring Progress: Keep records of student progress and behaviors, and report findings to the appropriate parties.
Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to assist in crisis situations, providing emotional support and guidance to students in distress.
Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for helping students overcome social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or related fields are a plus.
