Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant

Location: Slough, Berkshire

Contract: Full-time, 5 days a week

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? We are currently working with an SEN school in Slough, Berkshire, seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a SEMH Learning Support Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure the individual needs of students are met.
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).


Requirements:

Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant, specifically working with students with SEMH needs.
Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies for support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of students with additional needs.


Qualifications:

Relevant qualifications in Special Education or related field.
Additional training or certifications related to SEMH support is highly desirable.
