Job Description: As a Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH support, you will play a vital role in the development and well-being of children with challenging behaviours. Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, you will help create a positive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Supporting students with their academic work and encouraging their engagement in learning.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best support for each student.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
