We have an exciting opportunity for you as a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our school in North Hertfordshire!

In this position, you will work closely with students who encounter various difficulties, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, SLCN, Dyslexia and Autism.

As a teacher, you will have the chance to cultivate strong connections with your students, offering personalised learning resources and support to help them achieve academic success while prioritising their emotional and mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lessons and develop appropriate teaching materials
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils
  • Assess students with short or long-term learning difficulties and collaborate with colleagues to identify their specific requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the Equality Act (2010) by implementing reasonable adjustments and access arrangements, and working closely with the head teacher and governing body.
  • Collaborate with professionals such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and educational psychologists
  • Maintain close communication with parents and carers
  • Organise educational experiences outside the classroom, such as community visits, school outings, and sporting events
  • Provide assistance with personal care and attend to the medical needs of pupils
  • Create behaviour support plans that target areas for student improvement
  • Perform administrative duties, including updating and maintaining accurate records of pupils' progress
  • Attend mandatory annual reviews and relevant meetings, such as LAC reviews, pertaining to students with SEN
