Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Long-term Assignment)

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialised support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement personalised support strategies.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Apply effective behaviour management techniques to promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with parents, external professionals, and the school's SENCO to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Special Educational Needs and Mental Health Teaching Assistant.
  • In-depth understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
