Supply Teacher (specialist setting)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Educator who has experience working with students who have Special Educational Needs to work in a provision in Ware.

As a Supply Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational development and well-being of our students with SEN. Your responsibilities will include delivering pre-prepared lessons, providing one-on-one or small-group support, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide dedicated support to students with SEN in a classroom setting, following the guidance and lesson plans of teaching staff
  • Execute well-structured, pre-prepared lessons and activities to ensure the smooth continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Contribute to the effective implementation of IEPs and strategies for managing student behaviour
  • Cultivate an inclusive and nurturing learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students with varied learning requirements
  • Foster positive behaviour and active engagement, motivating students to actively participate and attain their academic objectives
  • Collaborateharmoniously with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and fellow professionals to ensure the unique needs of each student are met proficiently
  • Diligently monitor and document student progress, offering constructive feedback to teaching staff and maintaining meticulous records
  • Uphold a safe and caring educational atmosphere, adhering diligently to school policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Essential prior experience in working with students with SEN
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to connect empathetically with students
  • Confidence in effectively managing challenging behaviour and proficiently implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Flexibility and adaptability to perform in diverse school environments
  • A genuine passion and care for education and a sincere commitment to support students with SEN.
  • Possession of pertinent qualifications or certifications in the education of SEN would be advantageous
  • Holding QTS is essential for this position.
