Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an SEN Support professional. As an SEN Support, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential and achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met.
  • Assist students in developing their academic and social skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate the unique needs of students with varying learning abilities.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments to support their ongoing development.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and involving them in the educational process.
  • Support students during transitions between classes and activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of student assessments, achievements, and any other relevant documentation.
  • Attend relevant training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with students with special educational needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A degree or qualification in special education, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of various learning difficulties and strategies to address them effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality within the educational setting.
