SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Dunstable, starting as soon as possible. This is a temp-to-perm position for the right candidate.

The successful applicant must have experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and ideally a good understanding of various SEN diagnoses and how to work with children who present challenging behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have experience using a range of behaviour management strategies, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, teachers, and other professionals in a busy educational environment.

This role will involve the provision of both 1:1 support and classroom support. You will be working in both mainstream and SEN classes so must be able to adapt to different working styles and tasks.

You will also have the ability to communicate with parents, have a professional and flexible approach to work, and be willing to help children with any activity as appropriate.

Applicants must have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one) and must be able to provide 2 suitable references.
