Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to students with special educational needs. Your main responsibilities will include assisting teachers in implementing individualized education plans, creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, and ensuring that every student can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with class teachers to identify specific learning needs and develop appropriate strategies for individual students with SEN.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students during classroom activities and specialized learning sessions.
  • Assisting with the implementation of personalized learning plans, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes to the teaching staff and SEN coordinator.
  • Encouraging social integration and promoting positive behavior among students with SEN.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and therapists, to address the diverse needs of the students.
  • Creating and maintaining a supportive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of different learning difficulties and strategies to support students effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is desirable.
  • Must have UK experience.
