Job Description:
As an SLCN 1:1 Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs in a school environment. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with an individual student, providing them with the necessary support to help them overcome communication challenges and succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a student with SLCN, helping them with their communication skills and comprehension.
- Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies and interventions.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
- Monitor and record the student's progress and report back to the relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SLCN is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children succeed.
- The ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
