Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teacher with SLCN expertise

Location: Stevenage and surrounding area

Contract: Full-time, temp to perm

Pay: Starting from £160 per day, depending on experience

As an SEN Teacher, you will work with students who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. You will have a track record of delivering interventions that promote positive behaviour management, self-esteem, and resilience in pupils. Working collaboratively with other professionals, you will provide a high-quality, inclusive education to meet the needs of our diverse student body. You will be responsible for setting challenging, inspiring learning goals, and for tracking progress and evaluating the impact of your work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver effective lesson plans and schemes of work that meet the diverse needs of students with SEN difficulties
  • Create a supportive, stimulating learning environment that promotes academic excellence as well as personal growth and development
  • Provide personalised support, guidance and feedback to enable students to overcome barriers to learning, succeed and thrive
  • Work in collaboration with other professionals, including teaching assistants, counsellors, and mental health specialists, to provide a holistic approach to education
  • Using SLCN interventions to encourage students and develop their academic progress

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS status
  • Experience working with students with SEMH difficulties and SEN
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and interventions for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Demonstrate the ability to work positively, collaboratively, and flexibly in a team environment
  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH difficulties
