We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our team in Bedfordshire. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who may face various challenges related to their social, emotional, and mental well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support classroom teachers in managing student behavior and creating a positive learning environment.
- Help students develop coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and confidence.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as counselors and special education staff.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
- Attend training and professional development sessions as required.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferred.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or special education are advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
