Job Role:

As a Sports Coach, you will play a crucial role in our provision by using your passion for sports to engage and inspire young people with challenging behavior. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering sports sessions that are inclusive and enjoyable for all participants.
  • Assessing the needs and abilities of each individual and tailoring your coaching approach accordingly.
  • Managing challenging behavior effectively, creating a safe and supportive environment.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of participants and adjusting your coaching methods as needed.
  • Collaborating with other staff members to create a holistic support system for the participants.
  • Contributing to the development of individualized behavior support plans.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Experience in coaching sports, preferably in a youth or educational setting.
  • A passion for working with young people and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage challenging behavior and remain calm under pressure.
  • An understanding of behavior support principles is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
