About the Role:

  • Position: Teacher of English
  • Levels: Key Stages 3-5
  • Start Date: September 2024 (or as soon as possible)
  • Contract Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience) with potential for TLR for suitably qualified candidates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons to students across Key Stages 3-5.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum plans.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in English.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events related to English.

Requirements:

  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level; applications from both ECTs and more experienced colleagues are both warmly welcomed.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
