Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a dynamic team. This role offers the potential for Head of Year responsibility for the right candidate, providing an excellent opportunity for career progression. As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to students across key stages, fostering a love for the subject and promoting academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver outstanding lessons, catering to the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and achievement.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to inspire and challenge students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure all students reach their full potential.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
- For the right candidate, take on additional responsibilities as Head of Year, providing pastoral care and leadership to a designated year group.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Science or a related field (Chemistry or Physics specialism preferred).
- Ability to teach Science at the secondary level, with a commitment to academic excellence. Applications from both ECTs and more experienced teachers are warmly welcomed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider school community and potential for middle leadership roles.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
