Are you a passionate and dedicated Science teacher with a specialism in Biology or Chemistry? Dunbar Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join a thriving 11-18 mixed academy in Northampton. This role offers flexibility, with both part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) and full-time positions available, allowing you to contribute significantly to the school's Science department.

About the Role:

  • Position: Teacher of Science (Biology or Chemistry Specialism Preferred)
  • Levels: Key Stages 3-5
  • Start Date: September 2024 (or as soon as possible)
  • Contract Type: Part-Time (0.6 FTE minimum) or Full-Time
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons, ideally specializing in Biology or Chemistry, to students across Key Stages 3-5.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum plans.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Science.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular Science activities and events.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a Science subject or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level; applications from both ECTs and more experienced colleagues are welcomed.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology or Chemistry and a passion for Science education.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
