Cover Supervisor - Primary School

Currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the team and support the education and development of the pupils.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the school by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and wish to gain valuable experience in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classes of pupils in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and activities, ensuring that pupils remain engaged and on task.
  • Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, following the school's behaviour management policies.
  • Provide support and assistance to pupils, helping them with their learning and addressing any questions they may have.
  • Report back to the class teacher on the progress and behaviour of pupils during the lesson.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as required by the school.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a school environment or with children is desirable.
  • A good understanding of the primary school curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain discipline.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards working with children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom settings.
