Role Overview: As a Pastoral Support member, you will play a vital role in promoting the emotional, social, and personal development of our students. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that enhances their overall educational experience. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance, mentoring, and support to students facing various challenges, as well as collaborating with teachers and counselors to develop holistic strategies for student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong and trusting relationships with students, creating a safe space for them to discuss personal concerns and challenges.
  • Provide one-on-one or group support sessions, offering guidance on academic, emotional, and social matters.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to identify students in need of additional assistance and create appropriate action plans.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on topics related to mental health, bullying, and personal development.
  • Liaise with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being, fostering a collaborative approach to support.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral care, counselling, or mentoring role is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathise and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A genuine interest in the well-being and personal development of young individuals.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications in counselling, social work, psychology, education, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
