Job Title: Teacher of Design and Technology (DT)

About the School: Dunbar Education is pleased to represent an independent school in South Buckinghamshire. We are seeking an oinspirational, and committed Teacher of Design and Technology (DT) to join an expanding school community. With the opening of a new sixth form in September 2024, this is an exciting time to join a dynamic team.

Role Overview: We are looking for an excellent teacher with experience in delivering engaging DT lessons to join our Design and Technology department. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing our students for the challenges of higher education and beyond. As part of thier commitment to innovation, the school is are dedicated to developing practical skills and fostering creativity within our DT curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons, inspiring students and fostering a passion for the subject.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and 'A' level examinations, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Provide opportunities for practical hands-on learning and project-based activities.
  • Contribute to the development of digital and practical applications within the DT curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the overall aims and objectives of the school.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (desirable) and relevant academic qualifications in Design and Technology or a related field (essential).
  • Experience delivering DT lessons at GCSE and 'A' level, with a proven track record of academic success.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student achievement and well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of practical workshop tools and techniques, with a willingness to embrace new technologies in the classroom.
  • Right to work in the UK essential
