Position Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Design and Technology department as a Teacher specializing in Resistant Materials. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage and inspire students, develop their practical skills, and foster their passion for design and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Resistant Materials, catering to students' diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated to explore and experiment with different materials and techniques.
  • Lead practical workshops, demonstrating safe and proper use of tools and equipment, and providing guidance to students in their design projects.
  • Develop and assess student work, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the design and technology curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methods and industry-relevant content.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities to enrich the learning experience for students and contribute to the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Design and Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology, with a focus on Resistant Materials, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment and promoting students' holistic development.
